This week, I was experiencing the dreadful writer's block. I hate it with all my being because writer's block is just such a......frustrating disease to have will trying to write something (i.e. blog).
Okay, writer's block is not an actual disease (because they would have [hopefully!] a cure for it). It's more like a state of mind in which you simply cannot write, no matter how hard you try. It's frustrating because you have ideas, you have thoughts, words at the tip of your tongue, but you just can't get them out.
There are numerous causes for writer's block, but some experts have the block linked with anxiety and depression. Which makes you start wondering about some of your favorite authors and whether or not they went through this period of 'depression'?
Did Alexander Dumas suffer from lack of inspiration? Or Victor Hugo? How about Emily Dickinson?
How did they even get over those moments of noncreativity? There's actually an author named Henry Roth who did not write a lick of text for sixty years because he suffered from writer's block! What did they do in order to over this giant brick that did not let them write out some great literature?
There are various exercises that you can do in order to get back on track. It's highly recommended to talk to someone so that you can get rid of the turmoil in your head or heart and have a clear mind to write. If that's not the case, then maybe writing down anything that you think of (good or bad) might lead to a brilliant idea that can win you a Pultizer Prize.
Writer's block is insufferable because then, you lose that mojo that made you a powerful, excellent writer. But, with all things, there are ups and there are downs.
I had writer's block. I ranted about having writer's block. And now, it's fading away. But I've already written my post and hopefully taught you more about powerful writing, so maybe the block wasn't so bad.

Vanessa I have experiences the same thing but during a test. I know how frustrating it is because I had ideas that I wanted to talk about but they words wouldn’t come out and when they finally did I had completely almost forgotten what I was trying to say. Anyway, to me I think that when someone has writer’s block it is because they have something else in mind and once they do it, their mind is cleared off and they could continue with what they were doing. For those that don’t know what I am trying to say or have difficulty understanding, I am trying to say that one has writer’s block because there is something in their lives that is missing or they need to resolve something that is pending.
Yep exactly the same and i hate it. Sometimes this happens when i have a whole load of homework or when there is a test. I hate it and sometimes i end up writing bullshit. I hate it because i have the ideas, but i don't know how to write them down in a synthetical form that can do two things simultaneously: execute the ideas and convince the audience. Sometimes i have the words and everything, but when i put them together they don't even make sense to me. I just hate these moments the outcome is just the same as the ideas written in my paper.
Hey Amber.
I have to give it up to you. Although you experienced a writer's block, you put it to good use and wrote about what you had at hand.
Besides that, you are an excellent example of an ideal writer trying to establish ethos. Everything you tell me,i swear, i do not dare to questions. You did a good job establishing your credibility. (Good Job Flower.)
[Mean ol' Rooster today. Lol]
I have that every time i write. I agree with the whole writers block blog you posted up. Anxiety and depression are clear signs of the cause, but I also think it's because this generation of youth and even adults have come to be distracted by various distractions. The television and computer are great examples. Even the phone. These innovative creations have helped the American Culture tremendously, but it's also taken away our ability to think critically and even our diligence to try to succeed. I'm a victim of it clearly.
Dear Vanessa
After reading your blog and about the writer's block I never knew that there was such a thing. From your blog I learned what a writer's block is and that must be really hard to go through. I think that I've gone through that stage because there has been times in where I am writing about something and I have a good idea, but it doesn't come out as I had it in my head. I also sometimes when I'm giving a topic to talk about I get frustuatued because I don't have good ideas to talk about and feel that my work is no good. You stated that some powerful writer's have gone throught that stage, but probably they go through it because it is a break for them. They spend a lot of time writing and need a break to come up with new things to write about. Probably these authors get frustauated because they cannot write when so much is expected from them from the audience. What do you think?
Well, let me start by asking you to tell me who those people you talked about are. lol. I know none of them. MOving on, writer's block must really suck, especially if you get it during a huge exam, like the AP English Language and Composition Exam. lol
Vanessa what are u talking about?

Hi nessa,
Your blog was cool talking about writer's blog and such. I experience it most of the time and sometimes its just not in writing but in everything lol. I guess its just i forget quickly well anyways you did a good job in your blog even though you had a writer's block.
Dear Vanessa,
I’ve had those times, there really are frustrating. I also agree that we do have words in our tip of our tongue, and we don’t keep going because of just one or two words that we can’t put down in our writing. When you talk to someone it does help because they give you their ideas or suggestions. By that you both brainstorm and it suddenly comes to you. I do believe that strategy works.
